SUMMARY:OPERATION FOOTHOLD
DESCRIPTION:\nSITUATION:\nCommunist rebel forces have moved north from Kumbotso and have established dominance over the area from Kumbotso to the south and Lawan Aridi to the west.  They have established small bases from which they mount foot patrols.   They have also established road blocks across the region which they are using to search vehicles for weapons, food or other supplies they can steal for their campaign.\nOur forces have a small facility established at the Marwey airfield and the rebels know where our facilities are.   To break the hold the enemy have established in the areas south of the airfield, we must establish a patrol base in the centre of rebel held territory.    \n
